The rural first Advocate blows hot on Kano’s Emir Saga
Kano: Hauwa El-Yakub Writes An Open Letter To Kanawan Dabo On Creation Of 4 New Emirates
This is to wake us all up from our slumber. Kano is under siege, it has been taken over by the enemies of state who do not care about the future of our state because they have nothing at stake or to lose. Their interest in kano is to fill up their pockets and bellies with Haram and to punish us for being indigenes of the state who stand for what’s right.
I am sad to say that these enemies are not from outside but the enemies within. They are our own brethren, who have sold their souls to the devil in this world and do not care about the repercussions of their actions with Allah now or in the hereafter.
How can our state house of Assembly members betray us and our trust? Do they really think we can not smell foul from miles away?Kano is going through trying times and the last thing we need is for anyone to pull a stunt such as the one they just pulled to divide the Emirate. What kind of backward thinking is this? They have made us a laughing stock in the country.
It’s laughable to think that we have the best Emirate in the country and yet we want to use our own hands to destroy it. Aren’t we showing the whole world that what we have in government is just a bunch of power seeking individuals who do not know their left from right and therefore do not see beyond their nose!
The bill to divide Kano Emirate we all know is to serve the interest of few individuals in the state to help their ego and personal vendetta. If what they are after is the development of our state they would be Passing a bill to come up with a fifty year development plan that would tackle our low level of education, high maternal mortality rates, drug abuse in the state, unemployment, political thuggery, poverty, infrastructure deficit, lack of housing and so forth.
The last time I checked, kano Emirate is the most popular Emirate not just in Nigeria but Africa is proud to have the kano Emirate. To add it up, Allah blessed us with an Emir just like the Emirate that is an icon to not just Nigeria but to the African continent and yet just like a people without any sense, instead of us to support him and what he stands for he has become a target of ridicule and vindictiveness. May Allah protect the Emir for he’s a leader that has the interest of his people at heart.
An Emirate that has a history of over 200 years or there about must not be allowed to be destroyed by some individuals who have no vision and their mission is obviously to destroy our state and instill fear in us to the extent no one can speak the truth to them without an attack unleashed at him or her. Part of my senate agenda if you remember is to bring back the glory of our traditional institution in the country therefore I cannot support any move contrary to that.
Our house of assembly members have misplaced priorities; I personally think that they need to understand what democracy really means. Secondly, they need to understand that representation means you do what your constituents want and need. In this instance, our house of assembly should know that kano as a state is performing way below average and we need to step up the game and not waste time on things that are not only not a priority but seem to be the only functioning organ of the state. What we need is to concentrate on what’s not functioning and what’s not doing well at all in some cases.
In the end let me remind us all that Allah is watching us all. Our action or inaction is really what has brought our state to this situation where it’s very obvious the leadership is not about the state or the masses but the agenda of those that have clinched power by hook and crook and now have unleashed this agenda against first the Emir and all those that have not shown them support.
I repeat, they(our leaders/politicians) need to understand that politics is a personal choice and one should be allowed to stand with his or her choice. Alhamdulillah my conscience did not allow me to vote for any of them for I knew their evil intentions and they have manifest sooner than I even expected. To make matters worse, they chose the holy month of Ramadan to wage war against us. May Allah never let them rest as they have done us.
I will not relent in my struggle to help my state and my country in anyway I could even if it’s to Stay up late to write to the critical mass in order to wake us up to the clarion call to say NO to:
