Maryam Lemu Attends F.R.E.E Fundraising Lunch, Talks About Living a life of Purpose
Fundraising for refugees economic empowerment organize a Fundraising lunch today (Sunday) where Mrs Maryam Lemu spoke to the core of attendees on the subject “Living a life of Purpose.
Mrs Lemu while speaking said “We all have the desire in us to live a life of purpose.” A life where we all be useful to others.
Her point of reference was Suratul-An’am, where she said “Allah has raise some of us above others, and therefore we must empower each other irrespective of what it looks like, as she narrated Rasulullah (S.A.W) saying “The best are the most useful to others.”
A reminder about death sisters, What if you close from work, drive down to your house, on getting to your street, you found out that cars were parked all over you couldn’t find parking space?
You managed to park on the street, walked in to your gate, find people sobbing, wailing like they lost someone, you summoned the courage to get in to your living room, is it that a family member died? No. Search for your husband, he was seated consoling the children, Do head count on your children, they were all complete, Lo and behold it was you who had took your last breath.
You tried to call on your family members, no one could hear you.
You have been bathed, wrapped and there you go to the cemetery.
You were left to your deeds alone. Innah Lillahi Wa’inah Ilaihi Raji’un.
Are we comfortable with our children replicating what they see in us?
Representing women in the society with the huge responsibility on our shoulders is very key.
Everything we have, economic background, family, is what Allah has bestowed upon us, not our power.
Mrs Lemu adviced, Do not wait for burning bush, put your trust in Allah, take the leap of faith and see where it takes you.
Allah loves those who has trust in him.
Leading your life deliberately is very important.
Be the driver of your life.
Take charge of your life, make things happen.
The clever amongst you is, you who is aware of the hereafter and prepares for it.
The best amongst us are those who help others.
Peace is not absence of war.
Lets say you are diagnosed with terminal illness
What 3 things can you focus on?
What 3 things will you like to be remembered for after you are gone?
How significant are you to others?
Will your absence be noticed?
What will you be remembered for.
How are we ready for the life after?
Are you a bridge builder
